Rev. Robbie Murden was born and raised a United Methodist. He is a 1990 graduate of D’Iberville High School and 1995 graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. While serving God as a full-time youth minister at St. Paul UMC in Ocean Springs, he answered his call to ordained ministry in 2002 and received his Master of Divinity Degree from Duke University in 2005. Robbie has served several churches across the MS Annual Conference since returning in 2005.
Robbie is married to Kristy Murden who is called to be a pastor’s wife every bit as much as he is a called to be a pastor. He has two kids – Jaci and Rhett and a dog named Black Jack. Robbie and his family are excited to be serving the Lord at Safe Harbor UMC.

Bruce & Gabbie Lynd, Youth Ministry Leaders
Bruce & Gabbie have been members of Safe Harbor since their youth years. It is their goal to instill the love of Christ in the youth today as it was instilled in them all those years ago. They are married and have a son, Anderson & daughter, Cambreigh.
Kristy Murden is our “Tween Ministry Leader”. She is married to Bro. Robbie and together they have 2 teenage children; Jaci and Rhett. Over the years, Kristy has worked with Robbie in youth ministry…her heart is in working with Youth and Children. Being married to a minister has afforded her many opportunities to work in children’s ministries at different churches Robbie was appointed to, and she loves being able to teach bible stories and making them come alive for people of all ages. Kristy is grateful to God and Excited to be able to teach the Tweens at Safe Harbor.
Sumar Coleman, Children’s Ministry Leader
Sumar has been a member of Safe Harbor since 2006. She is married to Lee and they have twin daughters, Autumn & Gracie & a son Myles. Sumar has loved children her whole life and loves teaching them about Jesus. She has worked with the children of Safe Harbor for more than 8 years and loves every minute!
Jeanine Wells-Furniss, Nursery Ministry Leader
Jeanine has been with Safe Harbor for several years now and loves the babies so much she took on the task of caring for them in our nursery. She is where God knows she is doing good and so do we. The children in her care adore her and lovingly refer to her as their neen!

Tonia Lynd, Financial Administrator
Tonia served as our Office Manager from March 2002 until February 2023 when she transitioned to Financial Administrator. Tonia feels that God has guided her on this journey with Safe Harbor. She and her husband Bruce have 3 adult children, Sumar (Lee) Coleman, Bruce (Gabbie) Lynd, Jr. & John (Cheryl) Lynd. They love spending time with their children and 8 grandchildren.
